• Manufacturer Warranty of 3 years extended by 21 days
  • 5-year Service / Maintenance Plan extended by 21 days
  • Parts and Workmanship warranties extended by 21 days
JOHANNESBURG – Mitsubishi Motors South Africa (MMSA) is doing its part to fight the Covid-19 pandemic by coming to the rescue of its customers during the National Lockdown which starts at midnight on Thursday 26 March 2020.

“We are 100% committed in doing our share to clamp down on the spread of the deadly Corona Virus. All our Mitsubishi Motors SA dealerships, workshops and service centres will be closed for the duration of the lockdown announced by South African president Cyril Ramaphosa,” says Nic Campbell, General Manager of Mitsubishi Motors South Africa (MMSA).

“However, MMSA realises this might cause a different problem for Mitsubishi owners who need to have their vehicles serviced during this time, especially those that have come to the end of their vehicles’ original warranties and would have had them serviced during the lockdown period.

“We have therefore extended all active Manufacturer Warranties by 21 days so that owners can still have their vehicles repaired as per the policy documented and disclosed in the warranty and service book should relevant repairs be required during the lockdown,” says Campbell.

This includes the 5-year service/maintenance plan provided that the maximum covered odometer distance has not been reached and all maintenance and services were done at accredited MMSA outlets and are up to date.

“If the limit has been reached during the lockdown, each case will be considered on its own merit,” says Campbell.

These extensions, underwritten by MMSA’s service and maintenance plan partner MOTUS Financial Services, will include warranties on replaced components as well as workmanship, normally covered by an additional guarantee, for all Mitsubishi vehicles sold and maintained through the MMSA dealership network.

“At Mitsubishi Motors South Africa, nothing is more important to us than the safety of our customers and their families, and this includes maintenance and repairs during the now extended warranty period,” concludes Campbell.

  • All MMSA dealerships, workshops and service centres will be closed from Friday 27 March 2020 for 21 days and will reopen on Friday 17 April, depending on confirmation from the government.
